Installed capacity of Yunnan power grid exceeded 90 million kw

Recently, the installed capacity of Yunnan Power Grid Company broke through 90 million kw, reaching 90.56 million kW. Among them, clean energy installations accounted for 84.5%.

The installed capacity of clean energy has increased from 14.304,000 kW to 76.54 kw. In the past 10 years, Yunnan has made rapid progress in cultivating hydropower as the main power industry, comprehensively helping Yunnan to build a "green energy brand".

Clean energy takes the lead

It was 10 years ago that the power structure of Yunnan thermal power was completely broken. In 2009, the total installed capacity of hydropower surpassed that of thermal power for the first time, accounting for more than 50 percent of the total installed capacity. In the following 10 years, hydropower development in Yunnan province entered a stage of rapid development, and a series of actions such as construction, drilling, pouring, installation and operation of dozens of power stations in the Jinsha River and Lancang River basins were completed, and new energy units such as wind power and solar power were put into operation.

The power supply structure of the whole province has been significantly optimized. From the breakthrough of 20 million kW in 2009 to 40 million KW in 2013, it took four years for yunnan power grid centralized adjustment and installation to double, and then made a new step in 2014, 2015 and 20161, which exceeded 80 million kW in less than three years and exceeded 90 million KW in 2019. A series of changes in installed capacity over the past decade have led to a push for clean energy, mainly hydropower. At present, the number of power stations connected to Yunnan power grid exceeds 2,200. Among them, there are more than 1,800 hydropower stations, the largest of which, xiluodu Right Bank Power Plant, has an installed capacity of 6.3 million kw. As of July 31, Yunnan power grid has been generating 169.33 billion KWH of electricity this year, including 137.69 billion KWH of hydropower and 19.93 billion KWH of wind and photovoltaic power. Clean energy generation, mainly hydropower, accounts for 93.1 percent of the total, reaching the world-class level.

Channel construction speed up

The advantages of hydropower resources are prominent, and the assistance of external delivery channels is indispensable. To build a matching power grid, the resource advantage can be brought into play.

At present, yunnan power grid has formed a complete main grid of 500 kv around central, eastern and southern Yunnan, and radiates to the regions of northwest, northeast and southwest Yunnan. 220 kV covers 16 cities and cities, and 110 kv supplies power to towns and key enterprises. China sends long-distance and large-capacity power to Guangdong and Guangxi through the "eight direct and two transport channels". This year, clean energy from Yunnan is sent to Hainan for the first time, realizing the optimized allocation of clean energy in yunnan in a wider scope. The power transmission capacity of Yunnan power grid to the west reaches 31.15 million kw. Through 11 power trade channels, foreign countries radiate Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and other countries, which has become one of the most advanced technology and the most complex operation of the end of the large power grid in the world.

In the first half of this year, The power sold by Yunnan Power Grid Company reached 12.562 billion KWH, up 25.4% year on year, and the growth rate hit a new high in the past five years. Among them, the power delivered from west to East exceeded 60 billion KWH, up 38.3% year on year. In the first half of this year, the market-based electricity in The province exceeded 50 billion KWH for the first time, with a year-on-year growth of 27.5%. Among them, the electricity traded in clean energy accounted for 96.6% and the market-based electricity rate in the province reached 62.2%, both ranking first in China.

At present, Yunnan province is pushing forward the cascade power station transmission project on the upper reaches of the Lancang River and accelerating the construction of the UHV multi-terminal DC demonstration project from Wudong Power Station to Guangdong and Guangxi. It is expected that by 2020, the power transmission capacity of Yunnan province from west to east will reach 39.15 million kw.

Adopt more measures to consume clean energy

Of the 90.56 million kw installed capacity of Yunnan power grid, 84.5 percent is clean energy. In the short term, the situation of power supply exceeding demand in Yunnan province is difficult to change fundamentally. How to solve the problem of clean energy consumption? Expand the provincial market, strengthen the regional market, open the international market...... Yunnan Power Grid Company plans and makes precise efforts to do a good job of clean energy consumption.

In terms of market expansion in the province, Yunnan Power Grid Company will actively cooperate with the Government of Yunnan Province to conduct in-depth research on the matching of the current situation of power resources with the industrial planning of hydropower aluminum and silicon materials, and make overall plans for the construction scale and production sequence of power supply and power grid to meet the demand of industrial development.

In addition, increase the proportion of electricity consumption, the implementation of electric energy substitution is also an important means. Guided by the end consumer market, Yunnan Power Grid Company will continue to promote energy replacement projects in the fields of residential heating, production and manufacturing, transportation, power supply and consumption, and household electrification, effectively promoting energy conservation and emission reduction in the whole society. We will accelerate the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, further leverage the demonstration, leading and driving role, and support the development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Secondly, Yunnan Power Grid Company will actively coordinate, strive for the state to increase cross-provincial electricity and electricity price coordination, guide the improvement of price mechanism, and maximize the absorption of clean renewable energy; Actively seek support from China Southern Power Grid Corporation, strive to increase power transmission from the west to the east, and make full use of surplus hydropower.

With the continuous strengthening of grid structure and the continuous optimization of grid operation mode, the consumption level of clean energy in Yunnan grid has been increasing year by year. In the first half of this year, Yunnan's electricity transmission from the west to the east increased by 19.6 billion KWH, 17.606 billion KWH more than the same period last year, and almost all new energy generation has been absorbed.
